Bahrain Mirror: Detained Opposition Leaders stated that the administration of Jaw Central Prison is seeking to isolate them from the outside world by banning them from watching TV news channels.

The Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) explained that "the families of imprisoned political leaders reported the complaints of these detainees who said that there are attempts to isolate them from the outer world by blocking news channels inside prison." BCHR also pointed out that "detained industry major students were deprived of resuming their education because of a lack of resources in prison."

The European-Bahraini Organisation for Human Rights (EBOHR) also said that "the Bahrain 13 in Jaw Central Prison who are held in Block 7 are being deprived of their rights for months now, as the prison administration has blocked most of the news channels from the television in the cellblock where they're held in an attempt to repress, isolate them from the outside world and prevent them from receiving new from these news channels."

In a statement, EBOHR said that "the BBC Arabic news channel has been blocked for months from the list of channels the detained opposition figures follow, as well as most of the other news channels such as Al-Jazeera English, and only the MBC movies channel and the state Bahrain TV were kept."
