Thousands in Bahrain Protest Ruling Family’s Monopoly over Power

Bahrain Mirror: Thousands of Bahrainis took to the streets on Friday (May 20, 2016) west of the Bahraini capital Manama, reiterating their call for a democratic transition of power putting an end to the ruling Al Khalifa family's monopoly over power.
A mass protest was staged following Friday prayers in Al-Diraz area. Demonstrators chanted pro-democracy slogans, holding banners that criticized the authorities' failure to commit to its international obligations with regards to the BICI and Human Rights Council recommendations.
Demonstrations, demanding the people's right to self-determination, were also held in a number of areas across the island kingdom.
