Bahrain Mirror: The Bahraini Public Prosecution accused the family of martyr Hassan Al-Hayiki of "spreading false news," after he announced that Al-Hayiki's corpse had "cuts and bruises that confirm without doubt that there is criminal suspicion behind his death."
The head of the Northern Governorate Prosecution Adnan Fakhro said that the public prosecution investigated "the case in which a lawyer publicly spread false information surrounding the death of a pre-trial detainee at Dry Dock prison on July 30, 2016," adding that "the investigations concluded that the death was a result of natural causes and there was no criminal suspicion."
He further claimed that the lawyer was interrogated and faced with evidence proving that the detainee died of natural causes.
The prosecution alleged that the lawyer "said he received the information he had revealed from other persons without confirming their validity [...] and thus the public prosecution raised against him the charge of publicly spreading false news for the purpose of incitement, and ordered his release on the condition of staying at specified place of residence."
