Bahrain Mirror: President of National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Saeed Al-Faihani said that he returned from an abroad visit that he described as more than successful. Al-Faihani said that the visit aimed at explaining facts to the officials and European organizations regarding the measures taken by each of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Egypt against Qatar, stressing that Qatar sought to attract international sympathy by trying to change the political and security case to a humanitarian and human rights one.

Al-Faihani's words came during a meeting with Akhbar Al-Khaleej newspaper. The NIHR president stated that Qatar has to respond to the demands that calls to combat terrorism or it will face more sanctions. He indicated that Doha tries to dismiss the case of funding terrorism and supporting it, although there are information that proves its engagement.

He further stated "the Qatari authorities tried to put the NIHR in the foreground, which should not happen by commissions and national institutions competent in human rights as they should be neutral. However, the Qatari commission executed political policy that contradicts with the human rights approach. It also tried to claim that the dispute between the countries calling to combat terrorism and Qatar is a human rights and humanitarian dispute; a thing that we can't accept because we are national institutions and should work on protecting and promoting human rights in our countries."
