Bahrain Mirror: An Indian newspaper stated that the number of Indian workers in Bahrain reached 350 thousand in 2014 after it was about 90 thousand in 2000, which means that the number increased 4 times.
According to the numbers mentioned in the newspaper, there are about 105 thousand Indians working in service sectors.
The Indian Statesman newspaper mentioned that Asians constitute 45.5% of Bahrain's population, which puts them in the second rank in terms of number after Bahrainis who constitute 46% of population.
The newspaper said that the percentage of Indian unskilled labor is about 70%. Meanwhile, 30 % of them (105 thousand) work in banking, medicine, management and other sectors.
Unemployment among Bahraini graduates increased after the private and public sectors depended on foreign workers, following the popular uprising that sought to put an end to Al Khalifa monopoly over power.
