2018: Netanyahu in Oman, Next Stop Bahrain: FM Wears "Kippah" to Defend Israel

Bahrain Mirror (Exclusive): Since the beginning of 2018, until its end, the compass of order in Bahrain is moving towards the Zionist regime, wishing that this time it would be the next destination for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after Oman.

This large public rapprochement about the idea of normalization and recognition of the State of Israel increased, and reached the extent of Israel's right to "self-defence".

Bahrain, according to analysts and study centers, has emerged as a spearhead used by Saudi Arabia and the UAE in their initiatives to normalize and open to Israel, or as a "rat experiments" on the foreign policy of these countries, as an Israeli official expressed.

In June 2018, Bahrain hosted a senior Israeli delegation this time, including senior officials from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to take in the UNESCO World Heritage Committee conference under King of Bahrain patronage. At the opening session, the Bahraini crown prince shook hands with the Israeli participating delegations.

Israeli officials took "selfie" photos of them in Manama with wide smiles on their faces, as if they were not believing what was going on.

Bahrain officially invited Israeli Economy Minister Eli Cohen to participate in the Conference of Ministers of Emerging countries in the field of technology.

After photos of Netanyahu shaking hands with Sultan Qaboos in Muscat, and the foreign Minister of Oman dared to declare from the "Manama dialogue" that it was time to recognize Israel's presence in the region, the news emerged confirming that Bahrain will be the next destination for Netanyahu, including an official statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office saying that he will visit Bahrain "soon."

Although the Bahraini foreign minister denied that there was a planned visit of the Israeli prime minister, he said that if it happened, "we would not hesitate to declare it".

Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa was the most prominent name in this new chapter in the history of the Zionist regime in the region, even described by Palestinians as the godfather of selling Jerusalem and denounced it in large paintings hung on the streets of Gaza. Al Khalifa appeared in the banners wearing a "Kippah" ( traditional Jewish headcovering) bearing the David star (which indicates the Israeli flag).

The man became deeply hated by Arabs and Palestinians for the rare role he took on, not only in rapprochement with Israel, but in defending it, even in transforming Jerusalem into its eternal capital.

An Israeli research center deemed his first statement, commenting on the raids carried out by Israeli forces on Syria in May 2018, an unprecedented stance in the Arab world towards Israel, while Tel Aviv saw it as "historic support". However, Washington considered that Manama's mere recognition of Israel as a state was a significant development worth praise.

After the inauguration ceremony of the new US Embassy in Jerusalem, the minister appeared again to defend the action, claiming that the embassy was located in an area not demanded by the Arabs.

The Israeli minister's statements rolled up to the end of the year, with anger against him, both internally and externally. In November, Khalid bin Ahmed publicly praised the Israeli prime minister for what he called his clear stance on the importance of the region's stability and Saudi Arabia's role as he described it.

Wa'ad former Secretary-General Ibrahim Sharif regretted the statements of Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa in which he praised the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, considering that it is a shame to praise the enemy on the Balfour Promise anniversary.

After a statement reiterating his support for the "right of Israel" to stop what he considered a "threat" this time by the Lebanese Hezbollah, in what was known as the tunnels issue, he later came out, during the last month of 2018, with a statement defending Australia's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, following Washington's footsteps.

Former Bahraini Minister Ali Fakhro described what was taking place as a joint Arab-Israeli conspiracy to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The Bahraini foreign Minister, on behalf of his Government, has officially removed Israel from the "enemy and occupier" category, considering it a sovereign state having the right to defend itself, and that there's nothing between it and us but a mere disagreement.

It has become strange and unbelievable for Bahrain to dare denounce Israel's declaration that it is a "national state of the Jewish people".

The Israelis, through their study centers and newspapers, have deemed Bahrain the most Arab country close to Israel, and the most courageous among the Gulf countries with regard to Israel.

For Manama and its sister states, the existence of Israel seemed more urgent than ever. Bahraini and Emirati cycling teams attended the Tel Aviv race, and reports also revealed that Bahrain has used an Israeli spy program to track down activists.

The Associated Press disclosed that a secret meeting was held between Netanyahu and ambassadors of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates in Washington in March 2018. In November, a senior Israeli official revealed that Israel and Bahrain were holding talks to establish formal diplomatic relations.

An Israeli newspaper quoted a Bahraini official declaring that his country would establish diplomatic relations with Israel, which the authorities saw as more than it can handle at the time, and so denied it.

The Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth predicted in November that the Kingdom of Bahrain would sign a peace treaty with Israel in 2019, based on statements by a US rabbi who visited Bahrain as the head of a religious delegation and met the king.

Rabbi Marc Schneier organized a religious touristic trip to occupied Palestine passing by Bahrain in February 25th, in the first visit of its kind to a Gulf state.

No one in Bahrain spoke up to denounce the Bahraini state and its ministers as Zionist supporters, except those who live under the threat of their rifles every day. As exhausted as they are, they come out on Al-Quds day of every year to say that the people of Bahrain can still voice their rejection of the oppressive Zionist entity.
