Public Prosecutor Says 756 Convicts Benefited from Alternative Punishments

Bahrain Mirror: Public Prosecutor Ali Al-Buainain said that 756 convicts have so far benefited from the law on alternative punishments. Human rights organizations are calling to expand the beneficiaries to include political prisoners.
The judiciary had rejected requests by political prisoners to be included in the law, including a request by BCHR president Nabeel Rajab.
Al-Buainain discussed Bahrain's experience in applying alternative punishments with a delegation from the National Institution of Human Rights (governmental institution).
