Bahrain Mirror: U.S. Democratic Senator Chris Murphy visited family of detained human rights activist Nabeel Rajab in Bani Jamra.
Murphy's visit came on the sidelines of his participation in the Manama Dialogue Conference which ended on Sunday.
Senators Chris Murphy, Marco Rubio, and Ron Wyden had sent a letter to President Donald Trump urging him to raise concerns over the issue of deteriorating human rights in Bahrain.
The signatories called on President Trump to pressure the Manama authorities to release all political prisoners in Bahrain, mainly Nabeel Rajab. It is noteworthy mentioning that the regime courts had issued 5-year jail term against Nabeel Rajab for criticizing the authorities via Twitter.
A number of Bahraini figures like former MP Jassim Hussein and former Secretary-General of the dissolved Wa'ad society, Ebrahim Sharif, attended the meeting in their personal capacities.
