Bahrain Mirror: The spiritual leader of the Shia majority in Bahrain, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, has directed the citizens to suspend all religious and social activities due to the Coronavirus outbreak until further notice. He said "this suspension must continue until there is no more danger in order to preserve lives, which cannot be sacrificed without clear permission from the Islamic Law."
"The believers must note that the danger that prevents gatherings in Hussainiyas also prevents, with the same momentum and strength, gatherings in mosques or any gathering place for men or women, whether public or domestic, which leads to the transmission of the disease," Qassim said in a statement on Wednesday (March 11, 2020).
He went on to say "all that has to do with preventing or reducing the spread of the disease, according to what the specialists recommend - and as mentioned by the scholars - should be done. It is necessary to follow the health instructions issued by well-known competent authorities and those who are knowledgeable and trusted in this field."
