Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society considered preventing the broadcast of a symposium against the Zionist enemy by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development an act in contradiction with the Bahraini Constitution and local laws. It said that this step is among the normalization policy adopted by the authorities.

In a statement on Monday (May 11, 2020) via Twitter, Al-Wefaq said "the Ministry of Labor and Social Development in Bahrain cut off the broadcast of a symposium entitled (Normalization in the Gulf). This decision came shortly after the symposium started through a call made to the organizer (Bahraini Society Against Normalization with the Zionist Enemy) to stop the broadcast."

"This is yet another measure within the policy of normalization with the Zionist regime," the society added.

Al-Wefaq said that "the decision to prevent the virtual debate is in contradiction with the law, all local legislation, the Constitution and the religious and national commitment to the Palestinian cause."

"The Palestinian issue is a subject of national consensus and is considered the number-one issue for all people of Bahrain."

Al-Wefaq stressed that "the ban represents an effort to silence voices, confiscate the role of civil society institutions, and infringe upon Muslims' religious and national rights regarding their most significant issue."
