Bahrain Mirror: Hundreds of Bahrainis mourned in a funeral procession held in Nuwaidrat martyr Abbas Malallah, who died in prison after the Jaw Central Prison administration refused to transfer him to the hospital, on Tuesday (April 6th, 2021).
Malallah was serving a 16-year prison sentence for his participation in the 2011 protests. He spent more than 10 years behind bars.
Demonstrators chanted anti-regime slogans and demanded the release of political prisoners.
Malallah, like other political prisoners, was deprived of treatment for years. He went on a hunger strike several times to demand they provide him with the necessary treatment, after sustaining shotgun pellet injuries and suffering from colon problems.
Prisoners confirmed that Malallah asked to be transferred to the hospital the day before his death, after feeling severe pain in his chest and abdomen, but the prison administration rejected his request.
