11 Protests and Sit-ins Held in Bahrain Calling for Release of Prisoners as Corona Cases in Jaw Prison Reach 97

Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) announced that it had recorded 11 demonstrations and sit-ins staged Wednesday night (April 14, 2021), in several areas across Bahrain. The families of political prisoners continue to demand the release of their imprisoned loved ones after the spread of Coronavirus in prisons.
BCHR reiterated its call for broadening the implementation of the alternative penalty law to include the largest possible number of prisoners.
On Tuesday (April 13, 2020), the National Islamic Al-Wefaq Society said that the number of documented COVID-19 cases among prisoners reached 97, according to Ministry of Health data.
