Bahrain Mirror: On February 13, 2022, the local press published a piece of news whose source is the Ministry of Justice and the Arab Auction Company stating that Bahrain is offering a group of 100 properties for sale at auction, including an island in the western waterfront.

Just today, the Israeli media revealed that the Jewish National Fund bought it from this auction for about 9 million dinars.

The Israel TV7 News reported that Israeli company Himnota, which is owned by the Jewish National Fund, bought a private island with an area of 9,554 square meters for $21.5 million in an auction.

The TV channel claimed that the island is residential and suitable for investment projects of special nature.

The Israeli channel that published the piece of news and then deleted from its website quoted Avery Shnayer, representative of the Blue and White party on the board of directors of Himnota, as saying that a 50-story skyscraper can be built on the island and that it can used as an option to evacuate Israeli citizens in the event of a disaster or war.

Shnayer stressed that the island can be used and save people in time of need, adding that it is "deals for humanitarian purposes."

Avery Shnayer said talks will be held with the "friendly" Bahraini regime to transfer sovereignty over the island to Israel.

The Jewish National Fund is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1901 to buy and develop lands for Jews.

Jews in Israel and all over the world were encouraged to send donations to the project which are usually gathered in the JNF blue boxes.
