Nabeel Rajab Receives Martin Ennals Award for Human Rights Defenders while in Prison

Bahrain Mirror: Prominent human rights defender and founding member of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR), Nabeel Rajab, received the Martin Ennals Award for Human Rights Defenders in Geneva. It is to note that Rajab received the same award 11 years earlier.
Rajab was granted the award in 2012 while serving a 3-year prison sentence over "inciting an unauthorized gathering". He received the award due to his activism in reporting on the regime's human rights violations.
The Martin Ennals Award for Human Rights Defenders, sometimes called "the Nobel Prize for human rights", was created in 1993 to honor and protect individuals around the world who demonstrate exceptional courage in defending and promoting human rights.
