Bahrain Mirror: A team of specialists has been assigned to conduct a comprehensive review of all curricula to verify all modifications and changes that have occurred, said the Minister of Education Mohammed bin Mubarak Jumaa.

Bahrain News Agency quoted Jumaa as saying that this review was made "in implementation of the order of Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister," noting that the panel "will take measures to address anything which would prejudice national and religious constants and set the necessary methodological standards and measures to preserve the richness of curricula in dealing with religious constants and promoting Islamic teachings."

The Minister of Education confirmed that "the competent team will also work to withdraw the textbooks that include reviewed material, in order to re-launch them after making sure that they meet all the proper and necessary amendments.

The Crown Minister and Prime Minister directed on Tuesday (May 9, 2023) the Minister of Education to immediately halt any changes made to the Kingdom's educational curricula, according to BNA.

This came after Bahraini scholars and preachers issued a joint statement in which they expressed their deep concern over the recent suspicious changes made by the Ministry of Education in a number of curricula prescribed in public schools," noting that "what the ministry has done amounts to distorting the contents and falsifying facts." It is to note that these changes were imposed by normalization.
