Bahrain Mirror: The Bahrain Forum for Human Rights affirmed that it is normal not to trust the followed official procedures after complaints were issued about assaults on prisoners as a result of the previous policies of the Jaw Central Prison administration in dealing with prisoners of conscience, including those sentenced to death.
Commenting on the Ombudsman's statement regarding the attack on political prisoners, BFHR stressed via a tweet that "the statements issued by the official authorities are not enough," calling for conducting "an immediate investigation into the incident (beating the prisoners) and holding the perpetrators accountable, if they are found guilty."
The Ombudsman had issued a statement saying that it "immediately launched its investigations" regarding what it claimed was "a deliberate disruption and impeding of the procedures and violation of the instructions by a number of inmates in Jaw prison during inspection and organization in the center."
It said that it will later issue a detailed statement that includes the findings of its investigations into these incidents and allegations.
