Bahrain Mirror: Al-Wefaq Society condemned the execution of two Bahraini detained youths Jaafar Sultan and Sadiq Thamer and confirmed that it is a "sin, crime, and political execution that lacks simplest legal and ethical standards."

Al-Wefaq said in a statement on Monday (May 29, 2023) that Bahrain was saddened by the news of the execution of two Bahraini youths by the Saudi authorities in a dangerous escalatory step, considering that "it is not permissible to use the language of murder in addressing political and legal issues," holding the Bahraini regime "responsible along with the Saudi authorities."

While the society offered "sincere condolences and sympathy to the people of Bahrain and to the families of the two martyrs," it called for "changing these policies that lack legal foundations."

Al-Wefaq announced 3 days of mourning for martyrs Sultan and Thamer, and called on citizens to "limit the commemoration of the birth of Imam Reda, peace be upon him, in a way that does not reveal manifestations of joy and pleasure and focus on lectures and awareness speeches from the narrations and hadiths of Imam Reda, peace be upon him."

Al-Wafa'a Islamic Society condemned the Saudi regime's execution of detainees Sultan and Thamer, calling, in a statement, the people of Bahrain to "declare their explicit stance on this crime by raising slogans of loyalty to the martyrs and declaring broad solidarity in various arenas and fields."

Haq movement affirmed that "the execution of the two martyrs, Thamer and Sultan, is an extrajudicial killing and a heinous crime," noting that "they were tortured and brought before courts that lack the lowest standards of justice."

The movement called on, in a statement, the Bahraini people to "mourn the two martyrs and show solidarity with their families," and stressed that "these crimes committed against the Bahraini people will not force the people of Bahrain to surrender and abandon their legitimate demands."
